What's Wrong with Your Air Conditioning System? Common Issues
At AirMaster Heating and Air Inc., we provide air conditioning repair in Lawrenceville and the entire Metro Atlanta area. Because we know that there are times when your AC problems are not so clear, we recommend calling a qualified contractor if you are experiencing any of the following common issues with your air conditioner.
Cycles Frequently or Runs Constantly
If your air conditioner is turning on and off constantly, there could be a number of things wrong. But the problem is likely the result of the wrong-sized air conditioner. An air conditioning unit that is too small for your home is likely to run at full capacity and run constantly to cool the entire house. If your unit is too small for the home, you will likely never feel cooler even though your unit is running all the time. A unit that is too large for the home will likely cycle on and off frequently as it cools down the house and automatically shuts off and then back on soon after when the house starts to heat up again.
Blows Warm Air
If your air conditioner is blowing warm air, the first thing you should do is check your air filters. If your filters are dusty or dirty, then the dirt is going to restrict the air flow to your home making the air that comes out feel warm, which is clearly the opposite of what you want your air conditioner to do. Check the outside unit as well to make sure that there is not any outdoors debris such as leaves and grass blocking the airflow as well.
Will Not Turn On
You will be sorely disappointed if you turn on your air conditioner at the beginning of the season and nothing happens. This usually happens when your unit is not getting any electrical power to turn on, or when your thermostat is not functioning.
Calling an air conditioning repair professional for any of these issues should be the first thing you do.
